Foundation prep
Foundation and Walls
The top three photographs show the finished block foundation work with plaster covering. The final six photographs show the prep and pouring of the basement concrete slab. We went with a slab depth of 4-4 1/2", utilizing fiberglass reinforced concrete from Salomone Redi-Mix out of Wayne, NJ. The trailer-pump hoses can weigh upwards of 100 pounds every ten feet when filled with concrete, hence the surplus of manpower for the pour. Post pour, a soff-cut walk behind saw was used for the relief cuts to control cracking.
Site Utility Work
Site utility work is a major undertaking, especially when working in public roads. Police details must be used and the utmost safety concerns should be utilized. Our friends at the Fredco Group ensured a great and safe job would be completed efficiently and effectively. We thank them and the Montville Police Department for their help!
Steel and Framing
Setting steel I-Beams can be a couple hour job or a couple day job. Thankfully we always measure twice. Thanks to Swan Crane for the heavy lifting.
